The recent focus on illegal immigration and fraud in Minnesota has stirred the pot to the boiling point, especially during a Senate hearing that featured Minnesota’s Attorney General, Keith Ellison. Senator Josh Hawley, known for his fiery questioning style, put Ellison on the hot seat over his handling of fraud investigations in the state. Eyebrows were raised, tensions were thick, and it seemed like Senator Hawley was flipping the script, demanding answers and accountability from a man who appeared ready to duck and weave his way out of trouble.
Ellison found himself entwined in a back-and-forth with Hawley, who pressed him about why he had chosen to “help” anti-fraud investigators. While different states grapple with these issues, Florida stands out with its local law enforcement’s eagerness to collaborate on immigration enforcement. Meanwhile, Minnesota’s refrain from involvement in disciplining illegal activity raised flags, making everyone question just how the state intended to tackle fraud when the top cop seemed uncooperative.
