The absurdity of left-wing political theatrics knows no bounds, as evidenced by their recent antics following a thwarted assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Instead of rallying around a figure who was targeted for simply being a prominent conservative, the left chose to play their favorite blame game, shifting responsibility onto Republicans and Trump himself. Forget that someone tried to eliminate a political rival; let’s instead focus on the supposed failings of the GOP and their leader.
In an era where sanity seems to be on the endangered species list, critics of the Republican Party are seizing the opportunity to spin this assassination attempt into a larger narrative of moral failure. It’s a classic case of twisted logic where the victim becomes the villain. Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis, among others, pointed out that the left’s reaction illustrates a broader trend of political hostility that is not only reckless but downright dangerous. Yet, as is typical, leftists prefer to ignore their role in perpetuating a climate of division and hostility.

It’s almost comical how the left managed to pivot within a matter of hours from expressing horror at the situation to pulling out their conspiracy board, trying to connect dots that simply aren’t there. They sprout theories about how Trump’s “divisive rhetoric” must have encouraged the would-be assassin. This argument conveniently sidesteps any responsibility for the violent rhetoric that often pours forth from their platforms. Truth be told, it’s a classic case of projection from those who seem utterly detached from reality.
In the depths of their misguided outrage, the left continues to show a complete lack of awareness about the political landscape they have helped create. The violent outbursts, harassment of conservative figures, and countless riots during the summer of 2020 are forgettable in the eyes of those blaming Trump for a crime that was, thankfully, stopped before it could unfold. If blaming the target for an assault makes any sense, then perhaps it’s time to ask the left why they persist in stoking the flames of hate instead of promoting dialogue.
Inconsistency is the hallmark of leftist activism, and their reactions to Trump’s recent brush with danger illustrate this perfectly. While they attempt to tarnish the ex-president’s image, they ignore the real threats posed by radicalism nurtured within their own ranks. This bizarre blame-the-victim narrative is a desperate attempt to control the narrative, but it fails spectacularly in the face of common sense. With every misplaced jab at Trump and Republicans, the left only furthers their alienation from mainstream America, proving once again that it’s the victims who often know how to rise above the fray, even when the world decides to turn upside down.
