When will liberals stop crying wolf over a crisis that doesn’t exist? The latest outrage comes from the usual suspects trying to stir up panic over federal HIV/AIDS funding. The claim that America is slashing global HIV/AIDS funds and leaving millions to die is just more fear-mongering. In reality, U.S. taxpayers have shelled out billions for the fight against HIV/AIDS through the PEPFAR program. The idea that we need to keep writing blank checks to fix global issues is simply untenable. American money shouldn’t be thrown around the world without accountability.
The left loves to paint the picture of the heartless conservative. They want you to believe we don’t care about global suffering. But let’s get real. American taxpayers have been extraordinarily generous already. How often can we be asked to save the world? There are plenty of issues that need our attention right here at home. The facts show that this is not an actual crisis—it’s liberals trying to make a political point at American taxpayers’ expense.

What they won’t tell you is that the so-called cuts hark back to a need for accountability and responsibility. For far too long, globalists have pushed for endless funding without any check on efficiency or outcome. The thought that the U.S. is responsible for solving all of the world’s problems is ludicrous. It’s time to prioritize America and demand transparency in how global funds are utilized. Programs should be results-driven, not built for the sole purpose of appeasing leftist guilt.
How about holding others accountable for their own contributions to global health crises? It’s high time other wealthy nations take on more of the burden instead of looking to America as a bottomless wallet. Why should hard-working Americans foot the bill while other countries skate by with minimal contribution? Conservatives aren’t saying to abandon global initiatives; rather, we’re calling out a flawed one-sided strategy that’s more about symbolism than substance.
Enough is enough. The first duty of the government is to its citizens. Let’s cut through the noise and drama. The real crisis is the constant demonizing of America while conveniently ignoring any liberal failures to address similar issues at home. It’s high time we stood our ground and demanded better. Or are we going to keep playing the world’s ATM?
