Harjinder Singh, who snuck across our border illegally in 2018, caused a horrific crash on the Florida Turnpike that killed three people instantly. This tragedy was completely preventable, but sanctuary state policies made it possible.
Singh was driving a commercial truck when he made an illegal U-turn on a busy highway near Fort Pierce. His reckless move caused the trailer to jackknife and block all lanes of traffic. A minivan traveling at full speed slammed into the truck, and all three passengers died at the scene while the fourth died at the hospital.
The 28-year-old illegal immigrant from India crossed into America through California and was caught by Border Patrol just two days later. Instead of being sent home immediately, he was allowed to stay and fight his case in immigration court. For seven years, this dangerous alien lived freely in our country while his case dragged on.
Here’s the most outrageous part: California gave this illegal alien a commercial driver’s license. The liberal state of California thinks it’s perfectly fine to hand out CDLs to people who shouldn’t even be in our country. Governor Gavin Newsom’s sanctuary policies directly enabled this deadly crash.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem are rightfully furious about this preventable tragedy. DeSantis pointed out that Singh doesn’t even speak English properly, yet California let him drive a massive truck on American highways. The Governor demanded accountability not just for Singh, but for everyone who made this disaster possible.
This is what happens when states ignore federal immigration law and coddle illegal aliens. Sanctuary policies don’t make anyone safer – they put American lives at risk every single day. Liberal politicians care more about protecting criminals than protecting the citizens they swore to serve.
