Once again, the liberal media thinks it’s caught a conservative leader red-handed, but the only thing exposed is their own shameless dishonesty. The latest manufactured outrage claims Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth feasts on steak and lobster at taxpayer expense, while hardworking Americans foot the tab. It’s a juicy headline, but — big surprise — it’s not even close to the truth.
The numbers getting thrown around are completely misleading. The Pentagon does purchase steak and lobster, but that isn’t some secret luxury for higher-ups — it’s for morale-boosting meals served to the troops. Anyone outraged about servicemen and women getting a decent meal after defending our freedom needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror. These are the same liberal critics who clutch their pearls over “food insecurity” but suddenly lose their compassion when it’s our military having a special dinner.

Let’s be real: there’s absolutely no evidence that Hegseth or any other leader is using your money to chow down on five-star meals. The Left wants you to believe that the Pentagon budget is just a slush fund for top brass, all while ignoring the fact that hundreds of millions are wasted on pointless diversity seminars and globalist pet projects. If liberals actually cared about waste, they’d take a hard look at their own bloated bureaucracies instead of smearing those who keep this country safe.
Every time a conservative does something, the media machine jumps all over it — facts be damned. Meanwhile, Obama’s $400,000 speeches and Pelosi’s endless junkets are swept under the rug. Hypocrisy is the name of the game. If this exact story involved Kamala Harris or any other Democrat, you’d never hear about it, and everyone knows it.
At the end of the day, Americans deserve truth — not another left-wing fairy tale. The next time you hear about a supposed conservative “scandal,” maybe start by asking one simple question: Are liberals just upset that our troops are eating better than their D.C. think tank staffers?
