House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) is on the verge of becoming the Speaker of the House, and it’s driving the liberals crazy! The vote is set for noon on Tuesday, and already 119 House Republican members have publicly pledged their support for Jordan. Some weak-kneed Republicans are still holding out, talking about a compromise candidate. But let’s be clear, it’s the Democrats who need to do the compromising here.
Trump Isn't the Only Former President Some Have Floated as Speaker

You won’t believe the audacity of some Democrats. Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) actually suggested that former President George W. Bush should be the Speaker of the House. Can you imagine? The speaker doesn’t even have to be a member of Congress, but suggesting Bush is just laughable. Sure, Sherman claims he’s not a fan of the Iraq War, but any reasonable Republican would be someone Democrats could work with? Give me a break!
But let’s focus on the real star of the show, Jim Jordan. He’s got the nomination of the Republican Party, while the Democrats have nominated the lackluster House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), just like they did before. Remember when Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) had to earn the gavel on the 15th round last time? Well, it looks like history might repeat itself.
McCarthy was recently ousted when all the Democrats, at Jeffries’ bidding, joined a small group of Republicans in voting against him. They think they can prevent Jordan from becoming Speaker, but they’re underestimating the support he has. Jordan has been working tirelessly to garner the votes needed, and he addressed the importance of timing in a letter to his colleagues. We need someone like Jordan to ensure we can avoid a government shutdown and stand up against the attacks on Israel. He knows how to get things done.
Meanwhile, the liberals are losing it over the idea of Bush possibly being Speaker. Glenn Greenwald, a journalist who’s actually capable of independent thought, pointed out the hypocrisy of the left. These same Bush/Cheney operatives and neocons are the darlings of CNN and MSNBC. They fill the op-eds of the New York Times and The Atlantic. And yet, liberals have the nerve to claim that Bush/Cheney were better than Trump. It’s all a big joke, and they can’t handle that Bush could be a “perfect” suggestion.
The trends on social media have been dominated by the speaker’s race. There’s a groundswell of support for Jordan, with hashtags like “Jordan for Speaker,” “Vote for Jordan,” and “Jim Jordan” trending for days. Other members, like the principled Steve Womack from Arkansas and Mike Lawler from New York, have been standing strong with Jordan. As long as all Republicans show up for Tuesday’s vote, Jordan can afford a few defections and still come out on top. And mark my words, he believes they will select him as the Speaker on Tuesday. It’s going to be a victory for conservatives everywhere!
