Venezuela has become a country known for misery, corruption, and tragedy, thanks in no small part to socialist rule and globalist indifference. But this weekend, something rare happened—hundreds of political prisoners were set free. These men and women, wrongly locked up for daring to speak out or simply not bowing to the socialist machine, finally got to see their families. It should have been a mass celebration. And yes, social media was flooded with joyful reunions. But let’s not pretend this is because liberal world leaders suddenly found their consciences.
According to respected human rights organizations, more than 400 political prisoners were released in the last month alone. That’s 400 lives ruined by a regime propped up for decades by global elites and ignored by left-wing politicians. Where was President Biden while these Venezuelans sat in jail? Watching from the sidelines, shifting blame, doing nothing but sending weak messages—just like the Obama administration before him.

If the world paid attention, they’d see the truth. When President Trump was in office, even brutal socialist thugs like those running Venezuela felt the heat. Trump made phone calls. He put pressure on the regime. He didn’t play nice with globalists or tiptoe around delicate feelings. Instead, he stood up for American strength—and that made dictators sweat. Now, after years of liberal appeasement, it’s no surprise these prisoners only started walking free when the world got tired of pretending socialism works.
So here’s the question every honest American should ask: Do we want more of the same old leftist incompetence, or do we want leaders tough enough to put our enemies—and theirs—on notice? The Biden team would rather cozy up to international organizations and hold hands with socialist powers than actually fight for freedom. Meanwhile, Venezuela bleeds.
It’s time for another Trump phone call—one with backbone, not bureaucracy. If the world really cares about stopping tyranny, maybe it should stop listening to useless career politicians and start listening to someone who actually gets results. Or do liberals just prefer when tyranny goes unchecked—as long as it’s under their watch?
