There’s a new idea circulating in Washington, and it’s exactly the kind of bold move Americans are desperate for right now. After years of watching cowardly politicians tiptoe around Iran and its terror machine, Senator Lindsey Graham is urging President Trump to do something no one else has dared—take Iran’s Kharg Island. That’s not invading the entire country. That’s not endless nation-building. This is about crippling Iran’s cash cow and putting the mullahs on their knees.
For too long, globalist bureaucrats have watched as Iran gets rich off oil, funding their nuclear fantasies and terror groups by the billions. Kharg Island is the golden goose. Nearly all of Iran’s oil passes through there—millions of barrels a day that pay for missiles, bombs, and bloodshed across the Middle East. The “smart set” in Washington acts like this is too risky, but isn’t it more dangerous to sit on our hands while Iran arms itself to the teeth?

Liberals love to wring their hands about “provoking” Iran, but let’s be honest—these are the same people who applauded Obama handing pallets of cash to Tehran and called it diplomacy. Now that President Trump is taking real action, hitting Iran where it hurts, suddenly the left pretends to care about consequences for America and the world economy. Maybe if they listened in history class, they’d realize that strength—not appeasement—keeps America safe.
Of course, retaking Kharg Island would have a price. Iran’s regime will use whatever forces they have left to defend its oil empire. The media will cry about the chance of global energy prices going up. But how much longer do we let a terror state hold the world hostage at the Strait of Hormuz? Trump has already shown Iran—and the world—that empty threats are over. He’s hit military targets and left oil infrastructure standing, warning that next time, he won’t be so generous if Iran keeps poking the bear.
With the world watching and American elections around the corner, the choice is clear. Do we let bureaucrats and weak politicians kneel to Iranian threats, or do we finally cut off the source of evil that funds terrorism and chaos? When America leads, peace follows. Maybe if Democrats spent less time playing defense for Iran and more time supporting American strength, we wouldn’t have to face these kinds of threats in the first place. So, the real question: Does America want leaders who cower, or leaders who win?
