The fake news media is at it again with their latest attack on President Trump. They are twisting his words about the Smithsonian museums to make him look bad. This is exactly the kind of dishonest reporting that shows why Americans don’t trust the press anymore.
Trump never said slavery was good or that we should hide it from history. What he actually said was that our museums spend too much time making America look terrible. He wants them to also show the amazing things our country has accomplished. That’s not controversial unless you hate America.
The Smithsonian gets billions of our tax dollars every year. American families work hard to pay for these museums through their taxes. Those same families deserve museums that teach their kids to be proud of their country, not ashamed of it.
For too long, woke activists have taken over our cultural institutions. They want to brainwash our children into thinking America is an evil nation built on nothing but racism and oppression. This radical agenda has no place in museums paid for by patriotic Americans.
Trump is simply asking for balance in how we tell our nation’s story. Yes, slavery was wrong and we should teach about it honestly. But we should also celebrate the heroes who fought to end it and the incredible progress we have made as a nation.
The liberal media knows Trump is right, so they have to lie about what he said. They can’t win the argument on facts, so they resort to their usual playbook of name-calling and false accusations. Americans are getting sick of these dishonest games.
Our museums should inspire visitors with stories of American greatness and achievement. They should show how we became the freest, most prosperous nation in human history. Instead, they focus on making visitors feel guilty about being American.
President Trump is fighting to restore patriotic education in our schools and museums. He knows that a nation that doesn’t love itself won’t survive very long. That’s why the America-hating left is so desperate to stop him from succeeding.
