The crime crisis in Memphis has been screaming for strong leadership, and President Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard is exactly the no-nonsense response this city needs. For too long, Memphis has been a rotting example of what happens when left-wing policies and soft-on-crime politicians run loose. With violent crime rates soaring off the charts, it’s no surprise residents are openly welcoming the presence of the National Guard — they know this is the only way real control gets restored.
Memphis holds the dubious honor of having the highest violent crime rate in the country. This isn’t just some media exaggeration; it’s a hard fact that has brought businesses to their knees and sent tourists running. Local shop owners say business has been dismal for years because people simply don’t feel safe. When crime runs rampant, no one wants to spend their money—and that’s exactly what has happened to Memphis under weak leadership. The police were overwhelmed, and city officials appeared more concerned about political optics than actually protecting their own citizens.

While the Democrats in charge complain about the National Guard’s presence, reluctant to fully back the move, many Memphis residents now feel the city is finally coming back to life. The arrival of 150 National Guard members has eased daily fears and begun to put criminals on notice. This is what “control” looks like—not hollow platitudes or empty promises. Conservatives recognize that enforcing the rule of law is not optional; it’s fundamental. If liberals had done their jobs instead of playing political games, the National Guard wouldn’t even need to show up.
Yet Memphis’ Democratic mayor and some local activists cast doubt on the necessity of strong measures, questioning whether outside help is an “invasion.” That kind of weak-kneed, soft-on-crime nonsense is what got the city into this mess in the first place. While some virtue signalers wring their hands over National Guard boots on the ground, the truth is the people of Memphis desperately want safer streets, better business, and a return to normal life. President Trump’s presidential memorandum didn’t just send troops—it created a task force committed to stamping out violent crime and turning Memphis into a model of law and order once again.
Republicans like Senator Marsha Blackburn recognize that this is a blueprint other crime-ridden cities should follow. Tough love. Unwavering leadership. No apologies. Meanwhile, Democrats scramble for excuses and resent anyone who dares to hold criminals accountable. The question is simple: will the rest of America learn from Memphis and demand real results, or will liberal failure continue to let crime fester and destroy communities? It’s time to choose safety over softness, order over anarchy, and action over excuses.
