Migrant Caravan Mocks US Border, Biden Admin Fiddles!

In a triumphant display of American resilience, a massive caravan of over 6,000 migrants is making its way through Mexico, headed straight for the U.S. border. These determined individuals hail from Central America, Venezuela, Cuba, and other countries – not exactly the huddled masses yearning to breathe free that our great nation was founded upon, but hey, who’s keeping track?

What’s truly astounding is that this spectacular parade of would-be migrants is happening just days before Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s planned visit to Mexico City. It’s almost as if these migrants are taunting the United States, daring us to enforce our borders and uphold the rule of law. And yet, the Biden administration seems utterly incapable of stemming the tide of illegal immigration.

The fact that so many of these migrants are traveling with young children tugs at the heartstrings. As our brave border security forces look on, these migrants hope to wear them down and win temporary legal status on their journey northward.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador of Mexico seems to be playing both sides of the fence. On one hand, he agreed to take in migrants turned away by the U.S. for not following the rules. On the other hand, his government’s efforts to curb illegal immigration are falling woefully short. The failure of leadership on both sides of the border is staggering, as it disrupts trade and fuels the righteous anger of conservative voters here in the U.S.

Just this month, the U.S. has been forced to apprehend as many as 10,000 migrants a day at its southwest border. Meanwhile, illegal border crossings have soared to over 2 million in each of the past two fiscal years. U.S. Customs and Border Protection had to suspend cross-border rail traffic in Texas due to migrants riding atop freight trains.

López Obrador claims to be willing to work with the U.S. to address the migration crisis, but only if the Biden administration eases sanctions on leftist governments in Cuba and Venezuela. It’s as if he’s trying to hold the U.S. hostage, demanding concessions while his country falls short in addressing the issue on its own. To make matters even more complex, Mexico has halted a program to repatriate and transfer migrants due to a lack of funds. It’s a veritable circus of mismanagement and manipulation on both sides of the border.
