Mike Pence Under Fire: Blames Trump for Israeli Attack!

Former Vice President Mike Pence is receiving backlash from the right after he criticized former President Donald Trump and GOP rivals for policies that he claims contributed to the recent attack on Israel by Hamas. Pence appeared on CNN and expressed his concern about an “American retreat as Leader of the Free World” caused by Trump, along with Vivek Ramaswamy and Ron DeSantis. He emphasized that both the invasion of Ukraine by Russia and the invasion of Israel by Hamas were unprovoked and called for America to once again stand as the leader of the free world. Pence stated that the heartbreaking images from these regions highlight the importance of American strength and leadership.

As a conservative writer, I wholeheartedly agree with Pence’s analysis. It is disappointing to see former allies like Trump and potential GOP presidential candidates signaling a retreat from America’s essential role as the leader of the free world. The United States must continue to stand as the arsenal of democracy and demonstrate unwavering support for our allies, like Israel. It is crucial that our next president takes a strong stance and leads with American strength.

The entire GOP field has come together to strongly condemn the attack on Israel by Iran-backed Hamas, as they should. This kind of aggression against our ally cannot go unchecked. It is commendable to see the Republican Party united in their support for Israel’s security and condemning acts of terrorism.

Despite the criticism and polarizing events at the Capitol on January 6th, Pence’s standing in the polls has not significantly changed. It is disheartening to see that over 58 percent of Americans hold an unfavorable view of him, especially given his strong track record as vice president. However, Pence’s favorability remains at 28.7 percent, indicating that there is still substantial support for him. It is worth noting that he is currently polling at 4.2 percent nationally among GOP voters, placing him in fifth place after DeSantis, Ramaswamy, Nikki Haley, and President Trump. This shows that Pence still has a fighting chance in the political arena.

It is unfortunate that some viewers criticized Pence for “politicizing a tragedy.” However, it is crucial to address the policies and decisions of our leaders that may contribute to such tragedies. Political leaders should be held accountable for their actions and their impact on America’s role in the world. Pence has the right to express his opinions and concerns about the direction of the Republican Party and America’s global leadership.
