In what can only be described as a miracle of biblical proportions, Sammy Berko, a 16-year-old Texan, died while rock climbing and was later revived two hours later. Berko was climbing a rock wall in Missouri City when he suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest. Thanks to the quick actions of gym workers, paramedics, and doctors, who worked tirelessly for two hours, Berko was brought back to life.

What makes this story even more remarkable is that Berko was suffering from a rare genetic disorder called catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), which affects the heart. Doctors were certain that Berko would not make it, given the gravity of his medical condition. However, as his mother said, “Suddenly, as I started praying, my husband said, ‘oh my gosh, he’s moving.” This was nothing short of a miracle.

Berko’s parents recalled the moment the medical team re-entered the room, stunned that they had never witnessed something like this before. And who could blame them?
