MSNBC Host Says Trump ‘Took Delight’ In J6 Capitol Riot

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough seems to be continuing his anti-Donald Trump campaign, this time by claiming that the former President took “delight” in seeing law enforcement officers get assaulted during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol building. Scarborough asked talk show host Charlie Sykes “What was Donald Trump doing for two, three hours? Staring at the violence and actually rewinding to the most violent parts of police officers. And again, these are Republicans that are rushing to endorse this guy at Mar-a-Lago. Trump watching and taking delight with police officers getting their brains bashed in by American flags.” It seems that Scarborough will leave no stone unturned in his pursuit of making people despise Donald Trump, inventing despicable stories that have no shred of truth to them.

Supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building, but it was far from an attempt to overthrow the government. No one was armed, no one was carrying explosives, and no one had a plan to take over anything. In fact, the protestors were almost entirely unarmed and peaceful, with a 70-year-old “insurrectionist” becoming the only person to have been found with any sort of weapon during the rally.

It is equally false to assert that Trump supported violence against the law enforcement officers. Trump called for peace in multiple posts on Twitter on Jan. 6 and during his speech that day: “Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement,” Trump posted at 2:38 p.m. “They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!” and “I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence!” Trump tweeted at 3:13 p.m. “Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!” How is it possible to continue to vilify him when it is very clear that Trump never endorsed or called for violence?

Unfortunately, Scarborough seems to have taken it upon himself to perpetuate lies and falsehoods by slandering the former president with his dangerously dishonest comments. Scarborough and his ilk are painted in their own hate and venom, they have become a symbol of everything that’s wrong with media today, pushing their politically motivated partisan agenda in the face of clear evidence. It’s unfortunate media personalities are using their platforms for such vile and venomous propaganda.
