National Guard Troops Needed to Restore Order in Democrat Cities

On Thursday’s American Agenda, conservative voice Kim Klacik joined other guests to demand what every law-abiding American wants: more boots on the ground where violent crime has been allowed to flourish. The panel argued that taxpayer-funded safety should not be a partisan afterthought, and they urged broader National Guard deployments to shored-up Democrat-run cities that have failed to protect their residents.

Let’s be blunt: when radical city leaders defund police and indulge soft-on-crime policies, the consequences are predictable and painful for hardworking families. Patriotic Americans pay taxes expecting basic public safety in return, not slogans and virtue signalling from coastal elites who never walk the neighborhoods they wreck. If mayors and governors refuse to act, the National Guard is a necessary tool to restore order and protect lives.

This isn’t theory — federal and state support has produced results where it’s been used, from coordinated task forces to Guard deployments that help secure streets and support local law enforcement. Republican leaders like Sen. Bill Hagerty have publicly discussed bringing Guard and other federal resources to hard-hit cities to stop the bleeding and make communities safe again. President Trump’s moves to back up local authorities have shown the kind of decisive federal action Americans deserve when Democrat officials dither.

Of course, the predictable left-wing tantrum follows every sensible proposal: cries of militarization and fearmongering about “overreach” from officials who have stayed silent while their cities slid into chaos. Governors in some blue states have pushed back against Guard deployments and sued to block them rather than protect their citizens, revealing priorities that are upside down. Voters should remember which officials stood with families and which chose political theater over public safety.

Kim Klacik and the other guests were right to call this out — conservatives must not apologize for demanding that government do its core job. We need durable solutions: temporary Guard missions where necessary, followed by robust hiring, prosecutions, and community support so law-abiding citizens can thrive. There is no contradiction between liberty and security; allowing criminals to run wild is the true threat to freedom.

The lesson for every patriot is simple: elect leaders who will defend our streets, our businesses, and our children, and hold accountable those who prioritize ideology over lives. If Democrats keep treating crime as a political cudgel rather than a crisis, Republican governors and the federal government must be willing to step in to protect taxpayers. Americans won’t accept being left defenseless while elites lecture about causes and excuses.

We owe the National Guard and local law enforcement our gratitude for stepping up when others would not, and we owe it to ourselves to demand policies that put security first. Let this be a clarion call to every sensible voter: support decisive action, support the troops, and never surrender our neighborhoods to lawlessness. America is worth fighting for, and public safety is nonnegotiable.
