NBC News, once again, shows America exactly why trust in the mainstream media keeps dropping like a rock. They tried spinning up a panic over the recent surge in arrests of illegal immigrants—because, shocker, a lot of those arrested didn’t have convictions yet. They’re hoping average folks are too dumb to realize what is obvious: being in this country illegally is itself a crime. That’s the entire point.
Only in the upside-down world of leftist media does getting arrested for breaking immigration laws somehow turn the criminals into victims. They ignore the fact that every single one of these people broke federal law just by crossing our border without permission. It really isn’t rocket science. Even a middle schooler can figure this out. But the liberal press ties itself in knots trying to pretend these are all innocent people, all while sob stories fill their headlines.

And why are street arrests even needed? Let’s talk about that. Thanks to Democrats ranging from Virginia’s Abigail Spanberger to Minnesota’s Tim Walz, ICE can’t just pick up illegal immigrants in jails like before. Instead, leftist leaders release suspects straight back into American communities, where too many go on to commit all sorts of violent crimes—robbery, assault, even murder. These politicians choose to protect lawbreakers rather than American citizens. They’re putting your family at risk just to make a political point.
Not that any of this matters to the open-borders crowd. They simply refuse to admit reality: coming into our country illegally is always a crime, no matter what sob story their friends in academia or the media try to peddle. It doesn’t matter if it’s a misdemeanor. It doesn’t matter if it’s a first offense. Law is law—at least for regular Americans, who get punished for even the smallest slip-up, while Democrats roll out the red carpet for foreign nationals who break into our home.
The truth is clear. Americans voted for border security and mass deportations, not for amnesty, not for endless loopholes, not for the insane idea that some people are magically above the law. Democrats and their media friends may hate that, but ignoring the facts won’t change reality. Maybe it’s time for the left to stop babying criminals and start respecting the will of the people—for once.
Where exactly does this parade of excuses end? If breaking our laws doesn’t matter, maybe the next rule to break will be theirs.
