Netflix just can’t seem to help itself. It’s back on the “diversity” treadmill with a new take on “Pride and Prejudice,” ready to taint an epic classic with woke nonsense. Instead of celebrating Jane Austen’s masterpiece, Netflix is setting the stage for another cringe-worthy rendition, complete with unnecessary modern twists. When did following the source material become a sin?
We’ve already seen Netflix’s strange attempts with shows like “Lady Jane Grey,” where historical accuracy was thrown under the bus in favor of pushing social agendas. Now, they’re taking a beloved European classic and turning it into a litmus test for how far we’ve fallen down this diversity rabbit hole. Will there be characters force-fitted into roles that would have Austen herself spinning in her grave? Sure sounds like it.
The new series promises to spice up what never needed spicing in the first place. How many historically-implausible woke checkboxes will this adaptation tick? It’s only a matter of time before we see how many characters are unnecessarily rewritten for an agenda. Are we set to throw logic and historical contexts out the window just for some self-satisfying liberal pats on the back? Why must everything be relentlessly remolded to fit today’s skewed narrative?
But that narrative extends beyond mere entertainment. It’s part of a broader, dangerous shift, as the left attempts to rewrite not just literature, but history itself. Meanwhile, liberals are attempting to reignite racial tensions through laughable tributes that completely misconstrue historical facts. Let’s not forget the blatant antics of figures like Al Sharpton, who never misses a chance to distort a situation for political points.
So here we are, standing at the crossroads of history and cultural idiocy. Will this Netflix reboot be the last straw exposing the DEI charade for the farce it really is? Or will audiences continue to be spoon-fed this ham-handed propaganda? Time will tell, but the outcome is as predictable as the liberal response to a challenge: ignore logic and facts, and double down on the agenda.
