California Governor Gavin Newsom hasn’t been having the easiest time with the restaurant industry lately. Remember way back during the painful COVID-19 lockdowns, when indoor dining was prohibited and everyone had to wear masks? Well, good ol’ Gavin was caught at a fancy-schmancy birthday party at the French Laundry restaurant, sans mask, making a mockery of his own rules.
There you go, democrats want your company to be bankrupt. Newsom's Restaurant Pays $16 an Hour Despite Law Crippling Fast Food Chains with $20 Minimum Wage. https://t.co/ZBiQ6vPnk6

Despite these photos, which should have tanked his career, the liberal media and the Democrats in California seem to have conveniently forgotten about this little incident because, well, he’s one of theirs. But for all you hardworking restaurant owners out there, the memory isn’t so easily erased.
Now, as Newsom sets his sights on a potential White House run in 2028, he’s been showcasing California as a model for the nation. And this week, the state saw a new law kick in, raising the minimum wage for fast-food workers to a whopping $20 an hour.
So what happens? Thousands of pizza delivery drivers are getting the boot as major Pizza Hut franchisees adjust to the new law and cut costs. Even the trendy Mod Pizza, which has been likened to the “Chipotle of pizza,” closed five locations in California, just before the law went into effect.
Not surprising at all, right? But wouldn’t you know it, this wage increase only impacts fast-food joints, not the fancy-schmancy restaurants and wineries owned by the likes of Governor Newsom. Sure, those employees are probably already rolling in the dough, but what about the little guys trying to make a living?
And speaking of Gavin’s restaurant, PlumpJack Cafe, it’s hiring a part-time busser for just $16 an hour plus tips. Seems swell, right? Well, until you look at what this position entails. The list of “ESSENTIAL DUTIES” makes it sound like more than just a side gig for some extra pocket money.
But wait! Before you start thinking Gavin’s directly involved in setting these wages, it turns out he put his restaurant holdings into a blind trust when he became governor in 2018. Translation: He may not be calling the shots, but he’s certainly reaping the benefits.
It’s clear that Newsom and his posh pals are completely out of touch with the struggles of everyday Americans. And if he wants to waltz into the White House in 2028, he better start paying attention to the people he supposedly represents.
Don’t let the America-hating left win. Stand with us today, and together we’ll never surrender to their elitist agenda!
