In a move that is sure to ruffle the feathers of gun-loving conservatives, the Democratic Governor of New Mexico, Michelle Lujan Grisham, has issued an emergency public health order that suspends the open and concealed carry of firearms in Albuquerque for a whole 30 days. Yes, you heard that right, folks. The liberals are coming for your guns!
Governor Grisham claims her reasoning behind this drastic measure is the recent tragic murder of an innocent 11-year-old boy in a road rage incident. Now, while we can all agree that any loss of life is a terrible thing, it’s absurd to think that taking away law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment rights is going to solve the problem. I mean, come on, criminals don’t exactly follow the law, do they?
And if that wasn’t enough, Governor Grisham has also sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, begging for federal agents to come to her rescue. Apparently, she’s been asking for help since June of last year! It’s like she thinks she can’t handle the job of governing her own state or something. Maybe it’s time for her to step aside and let someone who actually believes in the Constitution take the reigns.
Now, I don’t know about you, but I find it a little suspicious that the governor is suddenly declaring an emergency and suspending our Second Amendment rights just because the crime in Albuquerque has reached certain thresholds. It’s almost as if she’s been waiting for the perfect excuse to push her own anti-gun agenda. But hey, what do I know? I’m just a conservative reporter trying to shed some light on the situation.

But don’t you worry, gun enthusiasts, because there are a few exemptions to this outrageous ban. Police officers and licensed security guards are still allowed to carry their firearms. So basically, the only people who can protect us are the ones who are already paid to protect us. Brilliant plan, Governor Grisham.
In her press conference, Governor Grisham asked reporters to imagine a “perfect world” where a ban on firearms would allow police to focus on “the real criminals.” Sorry, Governor, but I live in the real world, not some fantasy land where criminals follow the law. And last time I checked, the Second Amendment was put in place to protect us from those very criminals.
It’s clear that Governor Lujan Grisham is using a tragic incident as an excuse to push her own agenda and strip law-abiding citizens of their rights. It’s time for conservatives to stand up and say enough is enough. Let’s not let the liberals take away our God-given right to protect ourselves and our families. Stand strong, my fellow conservatives, and let’s fight for our freedoms.
