Noem warned that anti-ICE chants, doxxing and vilifying language are “absolutely” fueling violent attacks on federal officers, a warning that should shake complacent politicians and pundits alike.
This isn’t alarmism — DHS data and multiple accounts show an alarming spike in assaults and threats against immigration officers during enforcement operations, with enforcement officials reporting dramatic year-over-year increases. Secretary Noem pointed to the near-exponential rise in assaults and intimidation that has put agents and their families at risk, and any fair-minded person must ask why those cheering the chaos are not called to account.
There are concrete examples of the danger she described: coordinated ambushes, fireworks and graffiti used to lure officers, and even incidents where federal vehicles were rammed and shots were fired during confrontations in cities like Chicago and at facilities in Texas. These are not isolated Twitter fights — these are real attacks with real injuries, and the political class that egged this environment on ought to own the consequences.
Noem rightly called out local leaders and some Democratic politicians for elevating emotion and misinformation that directly endangers law enforcement officers who are simply doing their jobs enforcing the law. Americans who love law and order should stand firm with our federal officers and with leaders like Secretary Noem who refuse to mince words about the threat. It’s time for accountability — prosecute doxxers, punish politicians who incite violence with impunity, and stop treating law enforcement as the enemy of civil society. The safety of our communities and the rule of law depend on it, and patriots will not be silent while public servants are targeted for doing their jobs.
