Pirro’s Justice Pledge: Lawbreakers Beware, No More Excuses

Jeanine Pirro didn’t mince words on Fox & Friends Weekend when she warned lawbreakers in that trademark, no-nonsense tone conservatives admire — “we’re coming for you” was the message the American people needed to hear from a leader who actually believes justice should be real and relentless. In a week that has tested the country’s patience and grief, Pirro used her platform to make clear that the Department of Justice under this administration will pursue terrorists and violent criminals with teeth, not platitudes. The tone was bracing, and patriotic Americans should welcome prosecutors who speak plainly about accountability.

The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, has left a grieving family and a community demanding answers after investigators say she was likely taken from her Tucson-area home. Pima County authorities have treated the residence as a crime scene and publicly acknowledged signs that point toward an abduction, while the FBI has joined the probe to help track down whoever did this to a vulnerable, elderly woman. This is not the time for spin or conspiracy theories — it is the time for boots on the ground and a government that actually acts.

Too often the elite media prefer headlines that score political points instead of reporting facts; yet in this case even those networks could not ignore the human horror of an 84-year-old who needs medication and cannot walk far on her own. President Trump publicly offered additional federal assistance and reached out to Savannah Guthrie, a reminder that protecting Americans should always be above partisan theater. If Washington means anything, it should mean marshaling every resource to bring Nancy home.

At the same time the Justice Department delivered a major win against Islamist terrorists: officials announced the arrest and transfer to U.S. custody of Zubayr al-Bakoush, identified as a key participant in the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attack that killed four Americans. The suspect was flown to Andrews Air Force Base and faces an unsealed eight-count indictment that includes murder, terrorism, attempted murder and arson — proof that patience and pressure can still produce results when our leaders refuse to forget the fallen. This is the kind of long-term, relentless pursuit of justice the families of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty deserved for years.

Jeanine Pirro’s role in announcing the indictment and vowing to prosecute “to the fullest extent of the law” is precisely the tough, unapologetic approach conservatives have been demanding from the Justice Department. She reminded viewers and wrongdoers alike that the pursuit of terrorists and violent criminals does not expire with political calendars, and that those who attack Americans abroad or prey on the elderly at home will face American justice. Let there be no mistake: these are not hollow words for cameras; this administration is showing it will act where prior ones hesitated.

Hardworking Americans want two things from their government: protection and results. Whether it’s bringing a Benghazi terrorist to heel or throwing every available resource at finding Nancy Guthrie, conservatives will cheer and demand more until every missing person is found and every perpetrator is locked away. The message should be simple to the criminal class and the lazy bureaucrats who would excuse them: stop the excuses, enforce the law, and put victims first.
