Polls Show Voter Anger Over Biden Border Crisis as ICE Caseloads Reach Record Highs

In this critical election year, polls are highlighting that Americans are deeply concerned about immigration issues. Many citizens believe that Joe Biden and the Democrats have allowed approximately 7.6 million illegal immigrants to enter through the southern border. This has placed an enormous burden on Customs and Border Patrol agents, who are now overwhelmed by the massive influx of illegal entries. The situation at the border has become untenable, with recent data shedding light on the gravity of the crisis.

Under Joe Biden’s administration, the non-detained docket of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has swelled to roughly 7.4 million cases, with projections indicating it could reach eight million by year’s end. This figure is double what it was during Donald Trump’s presidency. Each ICE agent is currently managing about 7,000 cases, a herculean task given there are only around 6,000 deportation officers nationwide. This glaring disparity underscores a severe lack of resources needed to tackle the issue effectively.

The “non-detained” designation refers to immigrants not held in ICE custody, encompassing those who have entered the country illegally and been released with future court dates, as well as individuals ordered to be deported but still residing in the country. Since the start of the fiscal year, an additional one million cases have been added to the workload, largely attributed to the Biden administration’s catch-and-release policy. Moreover, nearly 1.9 million individuals have entered the country undetected, further exacerbating the burden on ICE agents who are tasked with locating and deporting these individuals.

A substantial number of Americans, including a significant portion of Hispanic voters, advocate for mass deportations as a solution to the immigration crisis. They view the border chaos as a direct result of the Biden administration’s policies, which they believe prioritize political agendas over national security. President Trump has committed to addressing these issues if reelected, though he will likely face staunch opposition from Democrats in his efforts.

The current border situation is unsustainable, with ICE officials acknowledging the immense challenges posed by insufficient personnel and the relentless influx of illegal immigrants. The Biden administration’s handling of the border crisis raises serious concerns about its intentions and capability to safeguard the nation’s borders effectively. As the election approaches, these pressing issues are expected to heavily influence voters who prioritize national security and the enforcement of lawful immigration practices.
