Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is once again playing the victim card, this time claiming that racism is behind the allegations of her improper relationship with a special attorney. Seriously, can we just stop with the race card already? It seems like every time a politician finds themselves in hot water, they reach for the race card as a convenient excuse.

Willis hired Nathan Wade, a private lawyer, to assist with the prosecution of former President Donald Trump. But according to court documents filed by representatives of Trump co-defendant Michael Roman, Wade allegedly used money from Fulton County to fund lavish trips with Willis. And what does Willis have to say about it? Well, she’s pointing the finger at racism.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a little tired of politicians trying to deflect blame by crying racism. Willis claims that she hired three special counsels, all of whom were paid the same hourly rate. But conveniently, she only seems to have a problem with the allegations surrounding Wade. Could it be because he’s white? It certainly seems that way.
Now, let’s get to the facts. Fulton County records show that Wade was paid over $650,000 in fees since January 2022. And what did he allegedly do with that money? He supposedly used it to take extravagant trips with Willis to places like Napa Valley, the Caribbean, and Florida. All on the taxpayers’ dime, mind you.
The court filing doesn’t provide concrete evidence of a romantic relationship between Willis and Wade, but it does claim that sources close to both individuals have confirmed it. That’s certainly something worth looking into, especially considering the potential implications for the prosecution of Trump and his associates.
If these allegations are proven true, it could be a serious blow to Willis’ credibility and ability to carry out her duties as district attorney. Not to mention, it could possibly lead to federal charges under racketeering law. But instead of addressing the allegations head-on, Willis is playing the victim and suggesting that racism is to blame.
Let’s not forget that Wade also met with the White House Counsel’s Office before the indictment came down against Trump. And now he’s the subject of a House Judiciary Committee inquiry. This whole situation reeks of corruption and shady dealings.
It’s time for Willis to stop playing the victim and start addressing these serious allegations. Crying racism isn’t going to make them go away. If she wants to maintain any shred of credibility, she needs to be transparent and hold herself accountable. The people of Fulton County deserve better than a district attorney who tries to dodge responsibility by playing the race card.
