A terrible crime has shocked America. Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old radical leftist, gunned down conservative leader Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10th. This was not some random act of violence – this was a targeted political assassination of a patriotic American.
Prosecutors are now seeking the death penalty against Robinson, and rightly so. He faces seven serious charges including aggravated murder. Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray called Kirk’s death “an American tragedy,” and every red-blooded American agrees.
The evidence against this killer is rock solid. His DNA was found on the rifle trigger that fired the fatal shot. Robinson even confessed to his roommate in text messages, writing “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it.”
Robinson’s own mother revealed how her son had become radicalized by the left over the past year. She said he started dating a transgender roommate and became obsessed with far-left politics. When asked why he committed this evil act, Robinson said Kirk “spreads too much hate” – the typical excuse from violent leftists who can’t handle opposing views.
Charlie Kirk was a true American patriot who fought for conservative values and free speech. At just 31 years old, he was a devoted husband and father of two young children. Now his family is destroyed because of radical left-wing hatred and intolerance.
This assassination shows how dangerous the radical left has become in America. They can’t win debates with facts, so they turn to violence instead. Every American who loves freedom should be outraged by this terrorist attack on our constitutional rights.
Robinson will thankfully remain behind bars without bail as he awaits trial. Judge Andrew Napolitano is right – the evidence of guilt is overwhelming. This case should move quickly through our justice system.
The death penalty is exactly what this cold-blooded killer deserves. Charlie Kirk died defending American values, and now our justice system must defend those same values by holding his murderer fully accountable. Justice must be served.
