A Rhode Island prosecutor showed her true colors when she got arrested for trespassing at a Newport restaurant. Devon Hogan Flanagan thought her government job meant she was above the law. She was wrong.
Body camera footage shows Flanagan acting like a spoiled brat when police arrived. She kept demanding officers turn off their cameras and bragged about being an assistant attorney general. This is exactly the kind of entitled behavior Americans are sick of from government officials.
The 34-year-old prosecutor refused to leave the restaurant when asked. Instead of apologizing and walking away like any decent person would do, she got belligerent with the cops. She even had the nerve to tell an officer “You’re gonna regret this” while being arrested.
This is what happens when liberals think their fancy titles make them untouchable. Flanagan kept saying “I’m an AG” like it was some magic get-out-of-jail-free card. Sorry lady, but your government job doesn’t put you above regular Americans or the law.
The restaurant staff had every right to ask these troublemakers to leave. When they refused, police did their job exactly right. No special treatment for government elites who think rules don’t apply to them.
Flanagan was charged with willful trespass, which is exactly what she deserved. Her friend got hit with even more charges including resisting arrest. Both of these women learned that actions have consequences.
The Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office says it’s reviewing the incident. They better do more than just review it. This prosecutor embarrassed her office and showed she can’t handle herself in public.
This case proves what conservatives have been saying all along. There’s a two-tiered justice system where government officials think they get special treatment. Thank goodness for body cameras that show the truth when entitled liberals try to abuse their power.
