Ruby Mazur, a renowned rock and roll artist, has faced a devastating setback in his career. After working on over 300 album covers for legendary musicians like B.B. King, Elton John, and the Rolling Stones, Mazur was excited to open his own gallery in Lahaina, on the island of Maui. However, just as he was about to unveil his gallery, wildfires struck, destroying the historical seat of the kingdom of Hawaii.
Mazur and his son narrowly escaped the flames, with his son bravely driving past police barricades to save them. They spent three days sleeping in the back of a U-Haul truck before finding shelter. Mazur’s new gallery building, which housed his valuable collection of paintings and vintage album cover art, was reduced to ashes. It’s a devastating loss for Mazur after dedicating his life to rock and roll art.
