Secretary of State Marco Rubio had enough of the liberal media’s lies on Sunday. He shut down CBS host Margaret Brennan when she tried to push the fake narrative that Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy needs protection from President Trump. Rubio called it exactly what it is: a stupid media narrative.
The mainstream media just can’t help themselves. They always try to make Trump look like the bad guy, even when he’s working to end a deadly war. Brennan suggested that European leaders were coming to Washington to protect Zelenskyy from being bullied by Trump, but Rubio wasn’t having it.
Our Secretary of State set the record straight fast. He told Brennan that America has held dozens of meetings with Ukraine but only one with Russia. The European leaders aren’t coming to protect anyone – they’re coming because Trump has been working with them all week to find peace.
Trump’s approach is already working better than anything we saw under the previous administration. He met with Putin in Alaska and made real progress toward ending this war. Both sides agree they need to keep talking, which is more than Biden ever accomplished in four years.
The liberal media hates that Trump is actually getting results. They would rather see this war drag on forever than give credit to our president. That’s why they make up stories about Zelenskyy needing protection from the man who’s trying to save his country.
Trump has been clear from day one about his conditions for peace. Ukraine won’t be joining NATO, and Crimea isn’t coming back after Obama gave it away without a fight 12 years ago. These are just facts that everyone needs to accept.
The Europeans know Trump is serious about ending this war quickly. That’s why they’re rushing to Washington for meetings today. They want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem like the media.
Rubio showed exactly the kind of backbone we need in our diplomats. He didn’t let a biased reporter twist the truth about America’s peace efforts. It’s time for the media to stop playing games and start supporting our president’s work to end this tragic conflict.
