Her 84-year-old mother disappeared in Arizona, and authorities—surprise, surprise—are still grasping at straws. The search has gone cold, while bureaucrats twiddle their thumbs and the media shifts its focus.
Let’s not ignore what’s really at play here. This is yet another high-profile case where the system has shown just how incapable it is of protecting ordinary Americans, never mind the families with headlines and a spotlight. For all the liberals’ talk about “compassion” and “community safety,” big cities and border states alike are slipping further into chaos. Sanctuary policies, soft-on-crime prosecutors, and endless red tape make it too easy for criminals to disappear and victims to be forgotten.

It’s easy to trust law enforcement in front of cameras. It’s easy to “raise awareness” from a cushy studio. Americans are tired of being told to just accept the chaos. Maybe it’s time the people running our cities were held responsible for the heartbreak and uncertainty they keep causing.
