Director Sean Curran has stepped up to issue a zero-tolerance decree for “distractions.” Sounds great, but are words enough to combat the rot? It’s one thing to send an email about high standards; it’s another to act decisively. A stern speech might excite the woke media, but it won’t convince Middle America that the Secret Service is back on track.

Let’s not forget, just over Labor Day weekend, a security lapse allowed a Glock past screening at Trump’s Virginia golf course. The incompetence is staggering. We can’t afford these mishaps when the stakes are so high. The Secret Service is supposed to be our first line of defense. Yet, here we are, wondering if an agent is silently cheering for the next political assassination.
Anthony Pough, the agent in question, has been placed on administrative leave. He should be fired immediately. A slap on the wrist won’t restore the public’s faith. And what about the training and background checks for these people? When one bad apple claims that murder is “karma,” it reveals a deeper flaw in the system.
This biased partisanship has no place in a security agency tasked with protecting the nation’s highest office. Curran’s decree is a start, but action speaks louder than words. If this rot isn’t removed, how can we trust them to protect our leaders? It isn’t just embarrassing—it’s a direct threat to democracy. America deserves better than this sorry spectacle.
