The former president, to his credit, laid out three potential dates for a debate, while Harris decided to peddle her way to CNN— a network desperately trying to recover from its embarrassing performance during the June debate between Trump and Biden, which left many wondering if Joe Biden had wandered too far into la-la land.

When pressed further by Kernen about the glaring absence of substantive discourse in recent debates, Coons quickly pivoted to the classic Democratic playbook—point to Trump. However, Kernen’s rebuttal was clear, noting that Americans have learned little in the current debate landscape. Coons could only flounder in response. Suggesting that Harris was simply “too busy” ringed hollow when the truth remains that her busyness rarely includes facing the American public or dealing with the pressing issues that voters actually care about.
On a more serious note, Coons took to the streets of New York under the guise of attending the latest United Nations session, once again showcasing the quintessential Beltway arrogance that most Americans roll their eyes at. The supposed concerns of foreign leaders about America’s future are frankly inconsequential to everyday citizens who are grappling with skyrocketing grocery prices, soaring inflation, and a crisis in confidence regarding their own government’s effectiveness. Instead of high-minded global diplomacy, voters are more attuned to their local realities that the Biden-Harris administration has been ignoring while feigning concern for international opinions.
The broader narrative surrounding Biden’s administration continues to paint a dismal picture—one of incompetence and incapability at the highest level. With a president who struggles to string together coherent sentences, Americans are left wondering how he managed to secure such an influential position in the first place. Adding Harris to the mix only compounds the issue, as her reluctance to engage with crucial topics reinforces the notion of a Democrat leadership that is utterly detached from the realities facing their constituents. The constant reliance on the concerns of foreign leaders over American voters speaks volumes about the priorities of the current administration—detachment rather than direct engagement with the electorate seems to be the name of the game.
