In the heart of American conservatism, another harebrained idea from the liberal agenda is falling flat on its face. Buncombe County, North Carolina, is trying to pass a ridiculous reparations plan that is not only unconstitutional but also a massive waste of taxpayer dollars. This $2.9 million scheme is being scrutinized by none other than Harmeet Dhillon, an Assistant Attorney General who rightly sees through this absurd proposal as a blatant violation of federal law.
According to legal experts, this plan could break several laws, including the Fair Housing Act and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. What’s ironic is how these leftist policymakers claim to be champions of justice while blatantly ignoring the laws set up to protect all American citizens. How typical of liberal elites to think they can pick and choose which laws to follow when it suits their agendas.

Dhillon, someone with real experience of discrimination from growing up in North Carolina decades ago, calls this plan nothing but tone-deaf nonsense. Today, in 2025, America has made strides in civil rights, and proposals like these do nothing but drag us backward. It’s almost as if these liberals are stuck in a time warp, refusing to acknowledge the progress this country has made. Maybe it’s because they thrive on exploiting division.
What’s commendable is Dhillon’s unwavering stance to protect our nation’s laws from being twisted by these agendas. Her office has clearly sounded the alarm that any city or county looking to implement similar faulty plans is on notice. Accountability and transparency, the two things liberals often preach about but consistently fail to practice, are being demanded here. Dhillon’s call for openness about how taxpayer money is spent should resonate with every hardworking American.
For now, the leftist thinkers in Buncombe County may have retreated somewhat, possibly realizing the legal train wreck they were steering towards. But don’t be fooled; this kind of liberal maneuvering is happening all across the nation. The question remains: when will the proponents of these misguided strategies learn to respect the laws that have been put in place to guard the freedoms of every American?
