Special Counsel Jack Smith, also known as the “Silencer-in-Chief,” has responded to objections from former President Trump’s legal team regarding a protective order in the ongoing trial. This protective order, or as some might call it, a “gag order,” would prevent Trump from making any remarks that could potentially harm his case. And by harm his case, they mean expose the ridiculousness of the charges against him.

The Special Counsel’s office, in their typical high and mighty fashion, argued that the purpose of criminal discovery is to provide materials necessary for a fair trial. But what they really mean is that they want to control the narrative and prevent Trump from defending himself in the media. They proposed a protective order that would allow them to try the case in secret, away from the prying eyes of the American people. They claim it’s to safeguard witness privacy and the integrity of the proceedings, but we all know it’s just a sneaky attempt to silence Trump and prevent the truth from coming out.
They even listed several remarks that Trump has made during his defense in the 2024 election campaign. And let me tell you, they are nothing short of shocking. Trump had the audacity to speak out against the government’s attempt to hide exculpatory evidence from the American people. He called out the Biden administration for violating his First Amendment rights and Freedom of the Press. And you know what? He’s right! The major networks should be filing papers alongside him to oppose this blatant infringement on our constitutional rights.
But of course, the Special Counsel doesn’t want the truth to come out. They want to keep all information hidden, even the information that could prove Trump’s innocence. They’re trying to prevent the press from obtaining any material that might be relevant to the case. It’s a clear attempt to control the narrative and manipulate public opinion, especially during an election season. The American people have a right to know the truth, but the Biden administration is doing everything in its power to keep them in the dark.
And now, the Special Counsel is accusing Trump of trying to threaten witnesses by revealing confidential DOJ evidence. They’re claiming that his statement, “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!” is a threat. Give me a break! That’s just Trump being Trump, standing up for himself and not taking any nonsense from his enemies. It’s not a threat, it’s a promise to fight back against those who try to destroy him.
But guess what? Trump’s legal team is fighting back. They’re not going to let the Special Counsel muzzle their client during the campaign. They’re calling out the hypocrisy of the government trying to restrict First Amendment rights in a trial about First Amendment rights. And they’re absolutely right to do so. This is just another example of the government’s double standards and their attempts to silence anyone who dares to challenge their power.
Judge Chutkan, who has been overseeing the January 6 cases, needs to see through the Special Counsel’s charade. She needs to reject their excessive protective order and allow Trump to defend himself freely. It’s time for the truth to come out, and the American people deserve to hear it. Trump’s legal team is fighting for our rights and our democracy, and we should all stand with them. Don’t let the Silencer-in-Chief get away with this unjust silencing of our former president.
