Sun, Surf and Santa: Annual Charitable Spectacle Fetches $100K in Sunny Florida!

Yeehaw, hold onto your hats folks, ’cause down in sunny Cocoa Beach, Florida, a ho-ho-host of Santa Clauses took to the waves for a jolly good time at the annual Surfing Santas event. The sight of Saint Nicks decked out in their signature red suits, riding the waves, had the crowd hooting and hollering while they sipped on their Bloody Marys and soaked up the sun.

Now, hold onto your Santa hats, ’cause this whole shebang started a whopping 15 years ago at the brainchild of George Trosset, a sprightly 70-year-old who was even crowned “Citizen of the Year” for his festive vision.

And speaking of dough, this righteous Surfing Santas spectacle managed to raise a staggering $100,000 for the Florida Surf Museum and Grind for Life, which helps out folks battling cancer.

The event was set to make a move to Shepard Park, but after an outcry from the local crowd, they decided to keep the party right where it belonged – in good ol’ Cocoa Beach. And who can blame ’em? With its beach bars and restaurants, it’s the place to be for a festive, surf-side shindig!

They even paid tribute to the legendary Jimmy Buffett with a noontime “paddle out.” Now that’s sending off a beachcomber in style!
