The ongoing saga of activist judges, masquerading under the guise of neutrality, takes center stage once again. Chief Justice John Roberts might continue to peddle the myth of a Supreme Court entity untethered from partisan bickering, but reality begs to differ. The recent jabs from Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson at President Donald Trump expose the court’s veneer of impartiality as nothing more than smoke and mirrors.
Sotomayor, using her platform at a glitzy Smithsonian event, couldn’t resist poking at a president who dedicated his tenure to challenging flawed ideologies. Her grandstanding at a museum criticized for an exhibit that labels “hard work” and “the nuclear family” as signs of “whiteness” is a perfect case of liberal doublespeak. This isn’t about solidarity or diversity; it’s about pushing a divisive agenda. Under Trump’s leadership, American values like individualism and respect were elevated. But Sotomayor’s so-called solidarity seems to align more with globalist interests that aim to erode these very foundations.
Not to be outdone, Justice Jackson’s sanctimonious lament about supposed threats to democracy rings hollow. Her accusations against Trump and his allies seem more like a melodramatic attempt to distract from their real target: a constitutional order that’s inconvenient for their progressive fantasies. It’s almost laughable to hear lectures on democracy from those who constantly seek to redefine it according to their whims.
The judicial activism on display is nothing new, but its brazenness has reached unprecedented heights. So, where does it end? When will the judiciary remember its duty to uphold the Constitution, rather than play political games? One can only wonder if these justices purposefully ignore the real threats to society, conveniently brushing them aside in pursuit of a politically correct utopia. Why uphold American values when there’s a narrative to craft, right?
