Sweden’s Prime Minister just admitted something that should terrify every freedom-loving American. Ulf Kristersson told reporters he regularly asks ChatGPT and other AI chatbots for advice on how to run his country. This is the leader of a nation turning to robots for guidance instead of using his own brain.
Think about this for a moment. Swedish voters elected a human being to make tough decisions for their nation. Instead, their so-called leader is farming out his thinking to computer programs controlled by Big Tech companies in America. When did we decide that artificial intelligence knows better than the people we put in office?
The security risks here are absolutely massive. Every question this Prime Minister asks gets stored on servers owned by American tech giants. Foreign governments could potentially access Sweden’s most sensitive government discussions. This is exactly the kind of reckless behavior that puts entire nations at risk.
Critics in Sweden are already sounding the alarm bells. One university professor pointed out that voters didn’t elect ChatGPT to run their country. Another expert warned that relying on AI creates a dangerous slippery slope where leaders stop thinking for themselves entirely.
But here’s the really scary part. This Swedish Prime Minister isn’t some rogue politician going off script. He openly admits that other government officials in his administration are doing the same thing. An entire government is outsourcing its decision-making to computer algorithms.
AI systems are notorious for giving wrong information and making things up entirely. These so-called “hallucinations” happen all the time with chatbots. Now imagine basing national policy on information that might be completely false or biased by whoever programmed the system.
This is exactly what happens when weak leaders stop trusting their own judgment. Instead of studying real experts, reading actual reports, or consulting with experienced advisors, they take the easy path. They ask a computer what to do and call it research.
Americans better wake up fast because this trend is coming here too. When our politicians start asking ChatGPT how to govern America, we’ll know we’ve lost control of our own democracy. We need leaders with backbone who can think for themselves, not robots disguised as public servants.
