Swing State Voters Disapprove Biden’s Economic Handling Amid Inflation Concerns

A new poll has revealed that many voters in key swing states are giving President Biden’s economic performance a thumbs down. The poll, conducted by the Swing State Project, which includes nonpartisan Cook Political Report, Democratic polling firm BSG, and Republican polling firm GS Strategy Group, found that 60% of voters disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy. Additionally, a whopping 73% of voters ranked the high cost of living and inflation as one of their top three concerns.

The Swing State Project’s survey showed that voters in these crucial states are more inclined to measure the health of the economy by different indicators than those frequently highlighted by the Biden administration. In fact, 54% of respondents cited the rising cost of living as the best way to gauge the strength of the economy, and 51% viewed inflation as the weakest component.

The data also indicated that a majority of voters are not swayed by the federal unemployment and stock market numbers often touted by the Biden administration. Only a small percentage of voters identified the stock market, low unemployment, and household income as strong markers of a healthy economy.

The poll, which surveyed 3,969 voters in Wisconsin, North Carolina, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, found that former President Donald Trump is currently leading President Biden overall by 47% to 44% in these key battleground states.

Overall, the findings suggest that President Biden’s economic policies are not resonating with voters in these pivotal states, with many expressing concern over the rising cost of living and persistent inflation.
