Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is not one to let bygones be bygones. Just weeks after being acquitted in his impeachment trial, Paxton is now planning to file criminal charges against 12 Texas House lawmakers who led the charge against him. And what, you may ask, did these lawmakers do to upset Paxton so much? Well, they doxed him. That’s right, they released documents containing his home address, apparently in an attempt to intimidate him. And let’s just say Paxton is not happy about it.

In a statement, Paxton made it clear that he takes this matter very seriously. “My family and I receive multiple threats of violence,” he said, adding that “the far left” must be stopped from using “intimidation tactics” like doxing. Paxton is now calling on local prosecutors to investigate the lawmakers for violating a recently passed doxing law. If found guilty, they could face charges of a Class B misdemeanor. Ouch.
But Paxton is not the only one getting in on the legal action. House attorney Rusty Hardin, who led the prosecution against Paxton in his impeachment trial, is planning to fight back. Hardin plans to file a criminal complaint against Paxton for making a false police report. He called Paxton’s move a “bullying, uninformed vengeful act” and accused the attorney general of trying to misuse the criminal justice system. It’s a he-said, he-said situation, and things are about to get even messier. Buckle up, folks.
