Three brave police officers lost their lives today serving a warrant in Pennsylvania. Two more officers are fighting for their lives in the hospital. These heroes were just doing their jobs when a criminal opened fire on them.
Governor Josh Shapiro says we need to do better as a society. He’s right, but not for the reasons liberals think. We need to stop coddling criminals and start backing our boys in blue.
These officers had families waiting for them at home. They kissed their wives and kids goodbye this morning, never knowing it would be the last time. Now children will grow up without their fathers because of one violent criminal.
Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every single day. They walk into danger so the rest of us can sleep safely at night. Yet too many politicians treat them like the enemy instead of the heroes they are.
The suspect took the coward’s way out with a self-inflicted gunshot. He didn’t face justice for murdering three innocent officers. He robbed their families of closure and left communities mourning good men.
This is what happens when we have weak prosecutors and soft-on-crime policies. Criminals know they can get away with anything. They have no fear of consequences until it’s too late.
We need leaders who will stand up for law and order. We need district attorneys who will actually prosecute criminals. We need judges who will keep dangerous people locked up where they belong.
Our prayers go out to the families of these fallen officers. Pennsylvania has lost three heroes today. We must never forget their sacrifice and we must do everything to prevent this from happening again.
