Another horrific tragedy has struck an American Catholic school, this time in Minneapolis. Two innocent children, ages 8 and 10, were gunned down while sitting in church pews during morning Mass at Annunciation Catholic School. Seventeen other victims were wounded, including 14 children and three elderly parishioners in their 80s.
The shooter has been identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman, who was born Robert Westman but legally changed names in 2020 after identifying as female. This disturbed individual came armed with multiple weapons including a rifle, shotgun, and pistol that were all purchased legally. The coward fired dozens of rounds through church windows before taking their own life.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is that these babies were simply trying to start their school week with prayer and worship. They were sitting peacefully in God’s house when evil struck without warning. The fact that someone could target children in a sacred space shows how far our society has fallen.
We need to ask hard questions about what drove this person to commit such unspeakable violence. Mental health issues and gender confusion are serious problems that our leaders refuse to address honestly. Instead of real solutions, we get empty prayers from politicians who have failed to protect our kids.
Law enforcement responded quickly, but the damage was already done. Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed the shooter had no prior criminal history. This shows that background checks and current gun laws failed to stop someone determined to cause mass destruction.
Our children deserve better protection in their schools and churches. Parents send their kids to Catholic school thinking they will be safe from the chaos plaguing public education. Now even these sacred spaces are under attack by deranged killers who hate everything America stands for.
The mainstream media will focus on gun control instead of the real issues. They will ignore the mental health crisis and the breakdown of traditional values that leads to such evil acts. Meanwhile, families in Minneapolis are planning funerals for children who should be playing and learning.
Every American should be outraged that innocent kids cannot even attend Mass without fear. We must demand real action to protect our children and our faith communities. Enough thoughts and prayers – it is time for results that actually keep our kids safe from these monsters.
