Trump Approval Soars to 53 Percent Media Struggles to Keep Calm

Margaret Brennan’s face told the story before she even spoke. While reporting on a new poll that revealed President Donald Trump’s approval rating soaring to an impressive 53%, her attempt at maintaining journalistic professionalism was clearly failing. This number isn’t just a random blip on a radar; it represents Trump’s highest approval rating, surpassing even the most favorable metrics from his first term. One could almost hear the sounds of liberal hearts breaking as she reluctantly reported this astonishing news.

CBS’s executive director of elections and surveys, Anthony Salvanto, didn’t sugarcoat it for Brennan. He cut straight to the chase, explaining that Trump is deemed by the public to be doing exactly what he promised during the campaign. In an era of political double talk and empty rhetoric, it seems refreshing for voters to see a leader delivering on his commitments. A whopping 70% of respondents feel he’s keeping his promises. It’s the kind of good news that makes one wonder how Brennan was able to keep a straight face while delivering such revelatory information.

The poll results hit home in particular areas where Americans are showing strong support for Trump’s policies. First and foremost is border security. The majority of Americans support deploying troops to the southern border while simultaneously ramping up efforts to combat illegal immigration. The urgency of this issue is palpable, yet it seems to generate a collective groan from the left, who prefer to remain in blissful denial about the situation. But not surprisingly, the public isn’t fooling around; they favor firm deportation policies as well.

Then, of course, there’s the somewhat contentious topic of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Here, a large segment of Trump’s base crudely labels DEI as government overreach gone wild. Many Americans are beginning to question how these initiatives have strayed so far from their original intent, leading to calls for their dismantlement. It appears that common sense is back on the political stage, and while some members of the press may wince at the thought, the American public is acting as if they hold the final verdict.

Brennan tried putting a dampener on Trump’s approval surge, suggesting it’s simply a matter of “perception” rather than actual sentiment. Salvanto, however, wasn’t having any of it. He stuck to the facts, reinforcing that these numbers reflect genuine public sentiment, not wishful thinking. It highlights the ongoing struggle of the mainstream media to come to terms with Trump’s resurgent popularity, which clearly contrasts with their disdainful narrative.

In a particularly revealing segment, Vice President J.D. Vance faced down Brennan during a discussion on immigration policies, illustrating the administration’s hardline stance is resonating at the grassroots level. Vance articulated a clear message regarding citizenship laws, indicating that merely being born on American soil doesn’t make one a citizen. This straightforward approach might ruffle some feathers in high-brow media circles, but it’s exactly the clarity and decisiveness that working-class Americans appreciate. With the constant barrage of attacks from Democrats and the media, Trump’s early presidency shows signs of success, much to the chagrin of those still hoping for his downfall.
