Trump Cheers at UFC 302, Pledges to End Gaza Conflict

Former President Donald Trump made a public appearance at UFC 302 over the weekend, where he was greeted with enthusiasm by the crowd. During the event, a video surfaced showing Trump conversing with retired mixed martial arts legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, who expressed his belief that Trump could put an end to the conflict in Palestine. Trump responded by affirming his commitment to stopping the war.

Meanwhile, in the Middle East, attention was focused on a proposed deal aimed at bringing about a cessation of hostilities and ultimately rebuilding Gaza without the Hamas leadership in power. President Joe Biden is reported to back this proposal, while Israeli ministers have expressed strong opinions on the matter. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that the removal of Hamas rule and the dismantling of its military power are crucial objectives for ending the war.

As discussions continued, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that a permanent cease-fire in Gaza was contingent on the fulfillment of specific conditions, including the dismantling of Hamas’s military capabilities and the release of all hostages. However, other voices within the Israeli government indicated a willingness to consider the proposed deal as a means of securing the release of the hostages.

The proposed deal outlines a series of steps including a cease-fire, the release of women and children held hostage, a prisoner exchange, and the reconstruction of Gaza. It has elicited varying responses from Israeli officials, reflecting the complexities of the situation.
