The chaos in Minneapolis this month is exactly what hardworking Americans feared: federal agents executing a targeted ICE operation that officials say led to a dozen arrests of serious criminals — proof that the federal government is finally trying to restore order where local leaders have failed. While left-leaning outlets howl about tactics, the plain fact remains that people with violent records were being taken off the streets, and communities deserve to feel safe in their own neighborhoods.
President Trump did what any leader should do when the rule of law is challenged: he showed the public the faces of those arrested and rightly praised the ICE agents who put themselves on the line to remove dangerous offenders. In an era when the media treats law enforcement like the enemy, the president’s blunt, unapologetic defense of security sent a clear message that protecting Americans is nonnegotiable.
But instead of thanking the agents who risk their lives, Hollywood elites like Bruce Springsteen have chosen to clap for chaos, denouncing ICE and parroting the mayor’s demand that federal officers leave the city. Springsteen’s onstage sermon — painting heavily armed federal officers as some kind of Gestapo and dedicating songs to a politicized narrative — shows once again how out of touch fame and fortune are with the daily fears of ordinary citizens.
Ellen DeGeneres added insult to injury by openly praising protesters and expressing sympathy for demonstrators who have made the streets dangerous for neighbors and businesses alike, choosing performative virtue over a sober defense of law and order. Her overseas retreat and celebrity bubble do not give her moral authority to lecture Americans about how to handle violent, lawbreaking behavior in our cities.
Fox’s The Five rightly called out this celebrity embrace of anarchy, pointing out the double standard where entertainers excuse lawlessness while applauding activists who obstruct justice and harass officers doing their jobs. Conservatives see the pattern: when the left elevates mobs and vilifies the people enforcing the law, the only winners are criminals and the political class that benefits from chaos.
America’s priority has to be safety, accountability, and the rule of law, not celebrity virtue signaling or political theater designed to rile up the mobs. Patriots should stand with brave men and women in uniform who enforce our laws, demand that local officials stop sheltering criminals, and vote out the politicians who would trade our safety for headlines.
