Trump Exposes NATO Truth: Europe Forces US to Pay

Once again, President Trump is the only leader with the guts to say what most Americans are already thinking: NATO is a one-way street where the United States pays the toll and gets nothing in return. European countries act like they’re America’s friends when they need our military muscle, but the second we ask them to stand up to evil—like the Iranian regime—they go silent as church mice. These so-called allies love to talk about unity and peace, but when it comes to actually doing something difficult or dangerous, they leave us holding the bag.

Let’s be honest: Europe loves its lecture circuit. They wag their fingers at America over every little thing, but when it comes to taking out one of the most dangerous threats to the world, they get weak-kneed and look the other way. Iran has been a thorn in the side of freedom for decades. Every serious leader knows it. Still, European politicians are more worried about hurting feelings or losing cheap oil than stopping a global menace. Meanwhile, American dollars and American soldiers defend their borders.

The hypocrisy is off the charts. The left in Washington cries whenever America stands up on its own. They want us chained to the approval of global bodies and foreign bureaucrats, just like Europe does. Maybe that’s why so many liberals get nervous when Trump calls out NATO for free-riding. Liberals seem to think leadership means apologizing for our own strength. Trump knows better—America should never be afraid to act in its own interest, especially when our so-called allies are just along for the ride.

This kind of weakness from Europe isn’t new. Every time trouble pops up, the United States is expected to swoop in and fix it, while Europe dithers behind closed doors. That’s why the NATO alliance is broken. If our allies can’t bother to help us confront brutal regimes like Iran, why should we keep footing the bill and risking American lives for their safety? The world isn’t safe because of polite speeches; it’s only safe when America leads.

The sad truth is that globalists and their media cheerleaders care more about international cocktail parties than American lives. It’s time for Europe to finally step up—or admit they’re just along for the ride. Isn’t it about time America stopped playing chaperone for these cowards?
