It never fails. Every time a strong America gets tough with our enemies, the weak-kneed bureaucrats run for the exits and try to paint themselves as heroes. That’s what just happened when President Trump’s director for the National Counterintelligence Center, Joe Kent, threw in the towel—complete with a whiny resignation letter. Forget loyalty to America; Kent’s real loyalty seems to lie with anti-Trump talking points and the deep state echo chamber. He claimed that Iran wasn’t a threat and threw Israel under the bus, blaming them for daring to stand up to tyranny in the Middle East. How convenient for the left and their media allies, who love nothing more than a so-called patriot trashing America’s real friends while cozying up to our enemies.
Let’s be honest—this is the kind of fake outrage we’ve come to expect from the DC elite. Kent’s statements sound like they were ripped straight from a left-wing blog, with the same tired lines blaming America and Israel for daring to defend themselves. The fact is, Iran has threatened American soldiers, tried to build nuclear weapons, and chanted “Death to America” more times than college socialists have protested the flag. Pretending Iran isn’t a threat is willful blindness. And if Joe Kent can’t see the obvious, maybe he never should have been anywhere near our national security.

President Trump saw right through it. He made it clear that Kent was out of touch and soft on security. Trump isn’t interested in weak hands or nervous bureaucrats trembling at their desks. He’s there to make America strong again, not to cower before terrorist regimes or let globalist interests dictate our defense. That’s the leadership America needs—the very leadership the left and their establishment friends can’t stand.
Of course, now the left will try to spin Kent as some brave whistleblower or martyr. But let’s not kid ourselves—he wasn’t even trusted with the big decisions. He was nowhere near the war room when real choices were being made. It sounds like the administration got rid of a problem before it could turn into another Bannon-style leak machine. The professional leakers and media leeches will have to find someone else to peddle their stories.
Here’s the bottom line: We need leaders ready to do what it takes to protect America, not career bureaucrats more worried about impressing the foreign press or playing the victim on social media. If the Democrats and their pals in the bureaucracy want to keep bowing to Iran and throwing Israel under the bus, voters will remember. When did respecting our enemies and criticizing our allies become the liberal standard for “patriotism”? Maybe it’s time for the left to look in the mirror and ask whose side they’re really on.
