Former President Donald Trump's attorney, Alina Habba, didn't mince words when expressing her criticism of New York Attorney General Letitia James, referring to her as lacking in intelligence. James, a Democrat, initiated a civil fraud case against the former president, alleging that he and his sons manipulated their company's asset values to secure favorable insurance rates. Her legal action seeks $250 million in penalties and aims to bar Mr. Trump from conducting business in New York.
During a Newsmax interview, Ms. Habba didn't hold back in her assessment of the case. "She's simply not very bright, I'm sorry, but I have to say it," she asserted. "I've thoroughly examined their case and reviewed their legal team, and it's evident they lack a solid understanding of the matter at hand."

Despite Judge Arthur Engoron's ruling that fraud had occurred, Ms. Habba steadfastly defended Mr. Trump, asserting that his loan application process adhered to standard practices. "The fact that a bank is willing to extend a certain loan amount doesn't necessarily reflect their belief in the assets' actual value," she argued. "Banks often tailor their statements to secure the desired loan amount, and nothing more."
Ms. Habba also took aim at Attorney General James, suggesting that she should educate herself about the intricacies of the case. "It feels like being in a circus, with, well, let's just say it's quite absurd," she exclaimed. "Anyone with a rational perspective can recognize the sheer absurdity of this situation."
Unsurprisingly, former President Trump has been vocal in his criticism of Judge Engoron and Attorney General James from the outset. He contends that the case is politically motivated and accuses the attorney general of harboring ill intentions toward him. During his nearly four-hour testimony on Monday, he engaged in verbal sparring with Judge Engoron and launched verbal attacks on both the judge and Ms. James while defending his wealth. "I'm worth billions more than what the financial statements suggest," he confidently declared. "You're attempting to belittle and harm me for political reasons."
The outcome of the trial remains uncertain, but this ongoing saga is shaping up to be a battle of wits and wills between the former president and his adversaries. Stay tuned for further developments in what can only be described as a distinctly Trumpian spectacle.
