Donald Trump continues to defy the odds, even when the game of life throws death his way. Yesterday, in Butler, Pennsylvania, the former President narrowly escaped an assassination attempt that might as well have been scripted by Hollywood. A bullet grazed his ear, missing a fatal shot by mere millimeters. While two people were injured and one tragically lost their life, the real story here isn’t just the assassination attempt—it’s how the liberal media is handling it.
One might think that an attempted assassination of a former President would dominate headlines and front pages. Think again. Major outlets like the LA Times gave the incident a culinary treatment, throwing out the main ingredient. Instead of calling it what it was—an assassination attempt—they opted to dance around the term. And when they weren’t splitting hairs over terminology, some CNN anchors had the gall to blame Trump himself for stirring the pot, claiming his rhetoric incited violence. It seems irony isn’t dead, just hiding in the liberal media’s newsroom.

Critics were quick to point out that other political crises, like Biden’s cognitive freefall, often get more serious scrutiny. Yet, those same outlets were caught red-handed when the story involved Trump dodging a bullet. CNN, true to form, was busy playing their favorite game of false equivalence, muttering about “both sides” as if that would pave over the double standards.
When an entire issue of The New Republic went into a Hitler-Trump comparison extravaganza, they couldn’t muster a single story about the assassination attempt. Maybe they were too busy writing fiction to tackle cold, hard facts. Newsweek, for its part, took a conspiratorial route that would make Alex Jones blush. One had to wonder if they’d all gone mad or if this was a calculated move to cleanse the event from public consciousness.
Forbes seemed to derail entirely, focusing on the profile of a “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) expert” rather than addressing the morning’s clear and present danger. Then there was ABC News’ Martha Raddatz, who might as well have handed Trump the blame card, accusing him of making the situation combustible with his previous remarks. As if Trump should’ve anticipated someone would try to assassinate him.
In the face of such lunacy, the real craziness isn’t coming from the potential shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, but from the so-called “legacy press” that continues to fail basic journalism. These organizations are too busy spinning yarns to engage in honest reporting. While they attempt to disguise their selective outrage and negligence, one thing remains clear: the distrust in media has never been more deserved. As always, Trump stands tall, enduring the bias and hypocrisy with an unwavering spirit that only strengthens his support base. If the liberal press thinks this will go unnoticed, they’re in for a rude awakening.
