Former President Donald Trump recently made a bold prediction that has the liberal left shaking in their boots. In an interview with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity, Trump openly doubted that President Joe Biden would even make it to the 2024 election. Trump, always one to speak his mind, pointed to Biden’s apparent cognitive decline and questionable health as significant barriers to seeking re-election.
Some might say that Trump was just stating the obvious when he suggested that Biden is in “bad shape physically and mentally.” But the former president didn’t stop there. In 2016, Trump rallied the white working class behind him, but he lost ground with them in 2020. These voters represent a massive reservoir of untapped support for the GOP, and it’s crucial that candidates continue to focus on appealing to this demographic.
When it comes to potential Democratic nominees, Trump is quick to highlight their vulnerabilities. From Biden’s mishandling of key issues, to Harris’ unpopularity, to Newsom’s questionable decisions during the pandemic, the Democrats have left themselves wide open for criticism. And let’s not forget their relentless push towards radical green policies, including Newsom’s support for a ban on gas-powered vehicles and Biden’s transition to electric vehicles for the federal fleet.
But Trump hasn’t given up on reaching out to the working class. He’s pushing for changes like fully deductible business entertainment expenses, which could benefit both corporate types and the working class alike. This is the kind of issue that can resonate with voters in swing states, and Trump understands the importance of connecting with them on a personal level – and ultimately ensuring they are registered to vote.
