Former President Donald Trump isn’t mincing words this holiday season, sending a less-than-festive greeting to his 2024 rival, President Joe Biden. Trump didn’t just wish Biden happy holidays; he also labeled him “highly incapable” and leveled serious accusations about Biden using the U.S. justice system as a political weapon.
Taking aim at Biden’s recent debate performance, Trump observed that Biden “choked like a dog” on stage before comically attempting to mask his struggles under the guise of “International Travel.” For those keeping score, Biden then conveniently blamed his performance on a cold, which Trump sarcastically noted as somehow inconsistent with claims of cognitive decline.
Trump’s critique didn’t stop with Biden; he also took a jab at Vice President Kamala Harris, referring to her as “Laffin’ Kamala Harris” and suggesting she might be on the Democratic ticket come 2024. Democrats themselves are stirring the pot, with some calling on Biden to step aside. The grumbling reached a peak when Rep. Lloyd Doggett became the first House Democrat to publicly request Biden’s withdrawal, quickly joined by Reps. Raúl Grijalva, Seth Moulton, and former Rep. Tim Ryan. Ryan even went as far as to propose Harris as the replacement candidate, citing Biden’s faltering debate performance as a dire warning signal for the party.

To hear the White House tell it, there’s no need for concern. They assert confidence in Biden’s ability to helm a second term despite his age. Biden, doubling down, mentioned in a post-debate speech that while he may not be a “young man,” he assured supporters he’s more than capable of continuing the job.
This ongoing circus makes it’s evident that while Trump is gearing up for a head-to-head rematch, the Democrats are locked in their own internal battle, questioning whether Biden can withstand the mounting pressures. As the 2024 race heats up, Americans can expect more jabs, more “happy holidays,” and undoubtedly, more drama.
