Trump Sparks Outrage by Adding Flag Day to Free Park Admission List

In a move that perfectly captures his iconic style, President Donald Trump has managed to send the left into a frenzy by altering the list of fee-free admission days for national parks. Flag Day, which also marks Trump’s birthday, has now been cut, while two days that had recently been elevated under the previous administration—Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth—have been scrapped. Predictably, the left has erupted with cries of racism, as if a change to free-entry park days is tantamount to a national crisis.

Critics argue that removing days dedicated to civil rights struggles and replacing them with events tied to American heritage is a calculated slight against Black Americans. But let’s be real here. The symbolism of heading to a park to honor the civil rights movement is nowhere near as powerful as liberals would have us believe. In reality, these parks are usually filled with outdoor enthusiasts, not social justice warriors on pilgrimage. Trump’s decision to honor American symbols and achievements like Flag Day, Constitution Day, and days linked to iconic presidents reflects a patriotic narrative that extols the values this country was built on.

The uproar over Trump’s decision is typical of those who see racism around every corner. Conveniently ignored is the fact that national parks celebrate America’s natural beauty, shared by all, regardless of race. But this doesn’t fit the left’s agenda. They prefer perpetual victimhood, keeping the public mired in an unending cycle of guilt and division. In 2021, the Biden administration hastily elevated Juneteenth to a federal holiday, complete with demands for reparations and plagued by chaotic celebrations. But mention of this chaos is swiftly buried under the carpet of virtue signaling.

Even so-called moderate voices echo the left’s selective outrage, ignoring the global history of slavery in favor of a narrow, myopic focus on America’s past. They seem unaware that slavery has extended to every race and that other nations today still engage in this vile practice. No political capital or monetary gain flows from exposing current abuses. Thus, the real tragedies often go unchallenged by those clutching their pearls over park admission dates. Call it what it is: a façade of social justice that serves elitist, globalist interests, not the American people.

The real question isn’t why President Trump would dare reshape park visit days to honor America’s heritage, but why the left is so determined to tear apart what unites us. Instead of seeking to divide with endless narratives of guilt, it’s high time we celebrated the freedoms and opportunities this incredible country offers to all. Isn’t that something worth commemorating with a free day in our beautiful national parks?
