President Trump did exactly what millions of Americans have been demanding for years: he used the power of the presidency to call out and label violent domestic extremists who attack our cities, our officers, and our fellow citizens. On September 22, 2025, the White House issued an executive order formally designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization and ordered federal agencies to investigate and dismantle its illegal operations.
This decisive action did not happen in a vacuum — it came after a wave of left-wing violence that finally crossed a line with the assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk, an attack that shocked the nation and demanded a hard response. Prosecutors have charged a suspect in that killing, and the fallout has forced Washington to stop pretending random political violence is merely “protest.”
Conservative leaders and former lawmakers have been blunt about the danger Antifa poses, and former New York Congressman Anthony D’Esposito was among those urging tougher action on Newsmax’s American Agenda, calling the move common sense and long overdue. The president’s order backs up that call, finally giving law enforcement the mandate to follow money, communications, and the networks that enable sustained disorder.
Of course, the left and the media will howl about “First Amendment” and “overreach,” and legal scholars are already questioning how an amorphous, decentralized movement can be targeted under existing law. Those critiques matter, but they cannot be an excuse for inaction when Americans are being threatened and assaulted in the name of a false ideology.
The executive order is practical and pointed: it directs departments across the federal government to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle illegal operations and to follow and prosecute those who provide material support. If that means pursuing racketeering charges, cutting off funding streams, and using every lawful tool to protect citizens and officers, so be it — law and order must trump ideological cover for violence.
Now is the time for Congress to step up, to give prosecutors clearer statutory tools and to close any loopholes opponents try to exploit. If the left is serious about protecting speech and assembly, it will join in condemning political violence and supporting real, targeted measures against those who use chaos and intimidation instead of argument. No more excuses, no more soft-pedaling of radical tactics that endanger ordinary Americans.
Patriots who love this country should welcome leadership that defends our communities and our liberties from those who would replace free debate with doxing, intimidation, and assault. We owe it to victims and to our children to stand firm, to back our law enforcement, and to make sure the rule of law is not a slogan but a reality for every American.
